Stories of Hope

Jesup, by Ken Burton, is the first contribution to our online publication, Stories of Hope (At the End of Your Rope). Read it here.

You too can be part of this new interactive publication. Here's how it works. If you have a story to contribute, send it to us pasted into an email to hope@kenarnoldbooks.com. No attachments, please; and no pseudonyms. You may change the names of people in your story to protect privacy, however. If your contribution is selected, we will publish it on line. At the end of the period of open submissions, we will select from among the on-line stories a collection to be published in book form by KenArnoldBooks. Click here for the legal details you need to know about before you submit. But we want to read your work. Our first anthology is titled Stories of Hope (At the End of Your Rope).

Here's what we are looking for:

We have all been there. The loss of a job, the end of a marriage, the death of someone we love...moments in time when we feel there is no place left to go. Our options have run out. But then, miraculously or inexplicably, circumstances change. Perhaps you take a risk (even place a bet on the ponies!) or offer a prayer or drop into a church or synagogue or zendo....Whatever, the end becomes a beginning, and while your troubles may not have ended, you suddenly knew how to continue, to go on, to embrace hope. Your life changes from hopelessness to hopefulness, from sorrow to joy. We want to hear those stories of hope and publish them in this online collection. After we have what feels like a good number to choose from, we will put them into a book titled Stories of Hope at the End of Your Rope. We want to read your story. Send it pasted into the body of an email (no attachments, please) to hope@kenarnoldbooks.com. Your story should be no longer than 2000 words. Include in your email your full and real name--no pseudonyms, please--and your telephone number, so that we can be sure to contact you with any questions. Be sure to read the legal details before you submit.
